The Hospital Command Center Dashboard brings bed status, emergency department waits, pending admissions, transfers and expected discharges into one live view for your capacity team and unit leaders. It highlights where patients are waiting and why, so the people who can unblock a discharge, a bed clean or a transfer see it and record what they did. Decisions about patients stay with your clinicians and bed managers; the dashboard keeps the picture current and the history on record.

What it is for

On a busy day, the house supervisor pieces together capacity from the EHR bed board, phone calls to units, the ED tracking board and a whiteboard. Boarded patients wait in the ED while beds sit dirty or discharges wait for a ride, a prescription or a final note. Each department sees its own part, nobody sees the whole flow, and the reasons for delays are lost once the day is over, so the same bottlenecks return.

  • Bed, ED and discharge information sits in separate systems and on phone calls
  • Boarding patients wait while beds are blocked by cleaning, transport or paperwork
  • Expected discharges are not known early enough to plan admissions
  • Delay reasons are not recorded, so recurring bottlenecks are hard to prove

Who uses it

  • Hospitals and health systems running a capacity or transfer center
  • House supervisors, bed managers and patient flow coordinators
  • Emergency department and inpatient unit leaders
  • Case management, environmental services and transport teams
  • Executives who answer for throughput and patient experience
