The Permitting & Licensing Accelerator gives applicants a guided online application that works out which permit or license they need, what to submit and what it will cost. It gives your staff one place to check completeness, route plan review, take fees, schedule inspections and issue or renew, with every step recorded and visible to the applicant.

What it is for

Most delays in permitting and licensing start before anyone reviews anything: applicants are unsure which permit applies, submit incomplete packages, and then call or visit the counter to find out where things stand. Staff spend their time chasing missing documents and answering status questions instead of reviewing.

  • Applicants struggle to translate zoning and building codes into what they actually need to submit.
  • Incomplete applications reach staff and bounce back and forth, sometimes more than once.
  • Reviews in different departments happen one after another, each with its own comments and its own way of tracking them.
  • Status lives in spreadsheets, email and paper files, so applicants and elected officials ask staff for updates.

Who uses it

  • Residents, contractors and businesses applying for permits and licenses
  • Permit technicians and licensing clerks at the counter and online
  • Plan reviewers in building, zoning, fire, engineering and health
  • Inspectors working in the field
  • Department directors and managers who report on workload and service
