Two-step verification means that signing in needs something you know (your password) and something you have (your phone or computer with an authenticator app). Someone who learns your password still can’t sign in.

Before you start

  • Install an authenticator app, for example Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy. Any app that supports time-based codes works.
  • Make sure the clock on that device is set automatically. Codes depend on the time.
  • Have somewhere safe to keep 10 recovery codes: a password manager, or a printed copy kept securely.

Steps

  1. Sign in to the Moraph Portal, open the menu under your name and choose Security. You can also go straight to portal.moraph.com/account/security.

  2. In Two-step verification, choose Set up two-step verification.

    Result

The page shows a QR code and a key made of letters and digits.

  3. In your authenticator app, add an account and scan the QR code. If you can’t scan it, enter the key by hand. On a phone, you can choose Open in an authenticator app on this device instead.

  4. Type the 6-digit code the app now shows for Moraph into Verification code, and choose Turn on two-step verification.

    Result

The page says Two-step verification is on and shows your 10 recovery codes.

  5. Save the recovery codes now: copy them into your password manager or choose Print codes. Then choose I’ve saved them.

    Warning

The codes are shown only once. If you lose your device and don’t have them, you can’t sign in until someone resets your access.

We also email you to confirm that two-step verification was turned on. If you didn’t do it, contact your administrator or Moraph straight away.

Finish within 15 minutes

The QR code is valid for 15 minutes. If you take longer, the page says Setup took too long. Please start again. Choose Set up two-step verification again and scan the new code (delete the old Moraph entry from your app).

What signing in looks like now

After your password, the page Two-step verification asks for the code from your app. Each code works once and changes every 30 seconds; enter the newest one. See Sign in to Moraph.

Turning it off

On the Security page, enter Your password and choose Turn off, then confirm. We email you when it’s turned off.

If your organization requires two-step verification, there is no Turn off button and the page says Your organization requires two-step verification, so it can’t be turned off.
