Administration
Roles and what they can do
The four roles in a client organization, what each can see and do across Moraph services, and how administrators change someone’s role.
Applies to Moraph Portal as it works today. Moraph updates the platform continuously, and this page is reviewed when it changes.
On this page
Everyone in an organization has one role. The role decides what they see and do in the Moraph Portal, and carries across to Support, Docs and the Academy.
| Role | What it’s for |
|---|---|
| Administrator | Manages the organization’s people and access, and can see and do everything below. |
| Commercial | Contracts, renewals, invoices and billing contacts, plus everything a member can see. |
| Technical | Implementation tasks, onboarding checklists, documents, integrations and application access. |
| Member | Sees services, announcements, progress and shared documents, and works on tasks assigned to them. |
For the full list, see the roles reference. What someone can do inside a Moraph software product is set separately, by their product role.
See who’s in your organization
Open People and access. Everyone can see the People tab: each person’s name, email, job title, role and when they were last active. Administrators also see whether each person has two-step verification on, and their status.
If you aren’t an administrator, the page names your administrators so you know who to ask.
Change someone’s role
You need the Administrator role.
Open People and access.
Find the person, choose the new role in the Role column, and choose Save.
ResultThe page says Role changed. It applies the next time they open a page. The person gets a notification and email saying what their new role is.
Disable or remove someone
- Disable signs the person out of every Moraph app and stops them signing in until you choose Enable. Use it when someone is away or you’re checking something.
- Remove takes them out of your organization, with their product access. Their Moraph account stays theirs, but they no longer see your organization’s workspace, products or tickets.
Both ask you to confirm first. Records they created stay with your organization.
Rules that protect your organization
- You can’t change your own role or access. Ask another administrator.
- Your organization always keeps at least one active administrator. To demote, disable or remove the last one, first make someone else an administrator. Otherwise the page says Your organization needs at least one other active administrator first.
